Senior Chief Buehner is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. In September 1990, he enlisted in the United States Navy. After completing Basic Training at RTC Orlando, FL, he attended DK “A” School NTTC Meridian, MS.

His first tour was on the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON and commissioned her in July 1994. Designated as a “Plankowner”, he made her maiden “Med Float” and was advanced to DK3.

In July 1994, he attended AC “A” School in Millington, TN and took orders to NAS Whiting Field Milton, FL serving as a Facility Watch Supervisor and was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class.

In February 2000, he received orders to NSF Diego Garcia, BIOT where he was advanced to Petty Officer First Class and served as a Branch Chief.

AC1 Buehner reported to NATTC Pensacola, FL in March 2001 as an Instructor and was designated as Master Training Specialist.

In February 2004, he took orders to the USS ESSEX (LHD-2). He completed a successful tour as an Amphibious Air Traffic Control Center Supervisor.

In December 2005, he received orders to FASCFAC Pearl Harbor. He was advanced to Chief Petty Officer and served as the LCPO. While assigned to FACSFAC, he completed his first IA tour in Afghanistan as an NCOIC for a JSOC unit.

January 2009, he accepted GSA orders to Iraq as an Outpost OIC.

Chief Buehner reported to the USS KEARSARGE (LHD-3) in January 2010 as the AATCC LCPO. He was advanced to Senior Chief and transferred to NS Mayport FL.

Reporting to NS Mayport in January 2011, Senior Chief Buehner served as the ATC and Air Operations LCPO and completed his third IA tour to Iraq.

Senior Chief Buehner holds an Associate of Administration/Management degree from Excelsior College. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 180 (Gold)

Senior Chief Buehner’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and numerous unit and campaign awards.
