ENC Jeff M. Mather Chief of the Boat

ENC Mather was born and raised in Olmstdeville, New York. He enlisted in the Navy in 1992.
His first tour of duty was at Port ops in Charleston, SC were he worked on Yard oilers refueling ships and later shifted to tug boats bringing ships in and out of port. He then reenlisted and went to Engineman “A” school. After graduating from “A” school he was stationed onboard the USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50) stationed out of Little Creek, VA.
While onboard he worked in “M” division and worked out of MMR1 and AUX1. Five years later when his time was up he transferred to shore duty at ACU-2 on Little Creek. While there he supported the LCU’s rebuilding there engines and manufacturing hoses. Three years later he transferred to the USS WHIRLWIND (PC-11) Stationed out of little Creek. While onboard he was the LPO of the Engineering department and also was the SAR swimmer. Three years later he transferred over seas to ATG stationed out of SASEBO JAPAN. There he went aboard the ships to help train and certify the ships engineering departments. After four years at ATG he the transferred to PC Crew HOTEL.
Where he is currently stationed out of Little Creek, VA. He is the Chief of the Boat and the MPA.
His personnel awards are: Navy Commendation Medal, Navy achievement Medal, and the Good conduct Medal.
