CMDCM(SW) Ryan T. Wagner Command Master Chief

Master Chief Wagner is a native of Loogootee, Indiana and enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1993. He completed Recruit Training and Fire Controlman, Class “A” School at Great Lakes, IL followed by SPY-1A Radar, Class “C” School at Aegis Training and Readiness Center; Dahlgren, VA.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty aboard USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG-57), home ported in San Diego, CA where he served as an Aegis Radar Technician. He also completed a sea tour aboard USS LEYTE GULF (CG-55), home ported in Norfolk, VA. In addition, Master Chief Wagner served in shore assignments as an instructor at Aegis Training and Readiness Command and as the Senior Enlisted Advisor, Norfolk Ship Support Activity.
Master Chief Wagner is currently serving as the Command Master Chief onboard USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19) home ported in Norfolk, VA. He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Technical Studies from Excelsior College. Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 155 and has earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare and Master Training Specialist designations.
His decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
