MCPO (SW) Ryan J. Lamkin
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Lamkin is a native of New Orleans, La., and raised in Pensacola, Fla. He enlisted in the Navy in September 1990 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
His sea tours include; USS Forrestal (CV 59), two tours on USS Boone (FFG 28), USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), USS Simon Lake (AS 33), USS Taylor (FFG 50), USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49), USS Simpson (FFG 56), and USS Vandergrift (FFG 48).
His shore tours include; two tours as a Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, United States Naval Academy and Naval Station Great Lakes.
Master Chief Lamkin assumed his current assignment as the Command Master Chief for USS BATAAN (LHD 5) in July 2017.
Master Chief Lamkin is qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Craftmaster, and is certified as a Master Training Specialist. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and numerous campaign medals and ribbons.
He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class and Commander Navy Installation Command’s Senior Shore Leadership Course. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from University of Maryland University College and an Associates of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Oceanography Technology from Coastline Community College.
