CMDCM(SW/AW) Keith A. Webb
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Webb is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1988 and joined the Navy in February 1990 attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.
Master Chief Webb’s sea tours include assignments onboard the USS FULTON (AS 11) decommissioning unit (LABRADOR TWR 681) homeported at Naval Submarine Base, Groton, CT, the USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC 20) where he was advanced to First Class Petty Officer, served as Repair Division’s Leading Petty Officer and qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist during the ship’s deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.
In 2001, Master Chief Webb reported to the USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) homeported in Agana, Guam, where he advanced to the ranks of Chief Petty Officer and served as Repair Division’s Leading Chief Petty Officer.
Master Chief Webb’s other sea duty assignments include the USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7), where he served as Repair Division Leading Chief Petty Officer for 75 Sailors, qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and advanced to the ranks of Senior Chief Petty Officer. The USS BARRY (DDG 52), homeported in Norfolk, VA where he served as Repair Division and Engineering Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer, the USS OAK HILL (LSD 51), and the Pre-Commissioning Unit ARLINGTON (LPD 24) where he served as the Unit’s Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Ashore, Master Chief Webb served onboard the Shippingport (ARDM 4) Naval Submarine Base, Groton, CT. He also served at Port Operations Naval Station Norfolk, VA, Afloat Training Group, Atlantic where he was the Team Leader for Steam Team One/Two, Lead Damage Controlman for the Propulsion Examination Board (N82) and qualified Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist. He also served at Patrol Coastal Squadron ONE where he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader and was selected into the Command Senior Chief Program.
His first assignment was onboard the USS GARY (FFG 51) homeported in San Diego where he deployed to the South Pacific in support of Operations Martillo, complete RIMPAC 2012 and advanced to the ranks of Master Chief Petty Officer. There, the crew won the Battle Efficiency award, the CNO Afloat Safety award and VADM Buckeley Safety Award. His follow on CMC assignment was in Dec 2012 onboard the USS OAKHILL.
Master Chief Webb checked onboard the USS WASP (LHD 1) in June 2014 were he serves as the Command Master Chief. He has earned Afloat and Master Training Specialist qualifications and a Bachelors Degree. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy NRC class 21, the Command Master Chief Course class 76 and MCPON’s Executive Leadership Symposium Course class 1. His awards and decorations include four Navy Commendation Medals, six Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various campaign, service and unit awards.
