STGCS (SW/AW) Charles “Chuck” Eakley
Command Senior Chief
Command Senior Chief Eakley is a native of Bronx, New York. He graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of the Arts in 1989 and enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1996 under the delayed entry program. He completed Basic Training at RTC Great Lake, IL in 1996 and Sonar Technician “A” school in San Diego, CA 1997.
His shore assignments include Command Senior Chief at Transient Personnel Unit Puget Sound, WA, Operations Department LCPO, and Training Department LCPO at COMUNDERSEASURV (two tours), Virginia Beach, VA.
Sea duty assignments include 3-M Coordinator/Executive Department LCPO USS IWO JIMA (LHD-7), Work Center Supervisor/Sonar Supervisor USS BULKELEY (DDG-84), and Sonar Operator USS PETERSON (DD-969).
In December of 2013, Eakley assumed the duties as the Command Senior Chief of USS KAUFFMAN (FFG 59).
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (four awards), and various unit, campaign, and service awards. He has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Insignia, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Insignia, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) Specialist Breast Insignia.
Senior Chief Eakley is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport RI, Class 157 (Brown) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course Class 90. He was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program in February 2011.
