Lieutenant Commander Jody Bronaugh

Lieutenant Commander Jody Bronaugh, a native of Odessa, TX, enlisted in the Navy in 1995 as an Electronics Technician.  After completing the enlisted naval nuclear power pipeline in Orlando, FL and a nuclear operator instructor tour in Charleston, SC, he was selected for commissioning via Nuclear Enlisted Commissioning Program.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University in 2001 and was commissioned as an Ensign from Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, FL.  Upon the completion of Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, RI, LCDR Bronaugh reported to Charleston, SC for the officer naval nuclear power pipeline.

His initial sea duty assignment was in USS TRUMAN (CVN 75) as a Reactor Electrical Division Officer from March 2004 to November 2006.  During his tour, TRUMAN conducted a deployment to 5th Fleet, participating in Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.  Additionally, TRUMAN played a significant role in the relief efforts for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and won two consecutive Battle 'E' awards.  As a Department Head, LCDR Bronaugh served in USS DONALD COOK (DDG 75) as Weapons Officer from July 2009 to December 2010 where the ship conducted a Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) deployment in support of counter-piracy operations in the 5th and 6th Fleet Areas of Operation.  In January 2011, LCDR Bronaugh reported aboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) as the Reactor Training Assistant where NIMITZ completed a change of homeport from San Diego, CA to Bremerton, WA and participated in the Navy's Great Green Fleet and RIMPAC exercises.     

Ashore, LCDR Bronaugh served as the Officer in Charge for the Center of Information Dominance in Norfolk, VA from November 2006 to September 2008 where he was responsible for the training of all CTs, ETs, and ITs on the east coast.

Lieutenant Commander Bronaugh holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (two awards), Navy Expert Pistol Medal, Navy Expert Rifle Medal in addition to various service and campaign awards.
