Commander Keith C. Woodley
CDR Woodley enlisted in the Navy as an Electronics Technician in July 1988. He completed Advanced Electronic training and served in NAS Cecil Field Ground Electronics from 1990-1992. He next reported to USS LaSalle (1992-1993) and then to NAS Sigonella, Italy (1994-1996) He was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1996. He graduated with honors from Florida A&M in April 1998 with degrees in Electrical Engineering.
CDR Woodley completed Surface Warfare Officer’s School in November 1998 and reported to USS Samuel Elliott Morrison (FFG 13) where he served as the Damage Control Division Officer. He next reported to USS Anzio (CG 68) where he served as Combat Information Center Division Officer and Assistant Weapons Officer.
His next assignment was as a Training Liaison Officer at Afloat Training Group Atlantic Norfolk, Va from 2002 to 2005. During this tour, he graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with Master of Science in Business with a focus in Information System. After completion of Surface Warfare Officer Department Head training, he then reported to USS DOYLE (FFG 39) as the Chief Engineer in 2006. During this tour, DOYLE was awarded the Battle Efficiency Award twice, all Warfare Excellence awards was a two-time recipient of the CNO Afloat Safety Award. His second department head tour was Afloat Training Group, Atlantic as an Engineering Readiness Assessor (2007-2009).
In 2009, CDR Woodley reported to Command Carrier Strike Group Eight as the Logistic and Readiness Assistant Chief Of Staff (N4). During this tour, the Carrier Strike Group deployed 2009 and 2010 to CENTCOM AOR in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). CDR Woodley reported to Joint Staff Suffolk in August 2011 as Current Operations Observer Trainer for the Deployable Training Division.
His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3), Navy Achievement Medal (2), and various other campaign and service awards.
