Commander Erica Lynn Hoffmann
CDR Hoffmann was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. She was commissioned in 1996 from the United States Naval Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English.
Her first sea duty assignment was in USS FLETCHER (DD 992), as the Strike Warfare Officer and Assistant Operations Officer.
Upon completing the Naval Nuclear Power Training pipeline, CDR Hoffmann served as a Reactor Mechanical Division Officer in USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2000 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation NOBLE EAGLE in September 2001.
In 2004, CDR Hoffmann reported to USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91) as the Operations Officer. In 2006, she arrived onboard GEORGE WASHINGTON as the Main Propulsion Assistant, and completed a successful Partnership of the Americas deployment in the Southern Command Area of Operations.
CDR Hoffmann’s shore assignments include instructor, Surface Warfare Officer’s School Command, student, Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and Executive Officer, Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston, South Carolina.
She assumed duties as Executive Officer in USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG 58) in December 2011.
