Lieutenant Commander Brian Maynard
LCDR Brian Maynard graduated from the University of Washington in 1999 with a B.A. in History. He later earned an M.A. in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2005.
LCDR Maynard’s sea assignments include Ordnance Officer in USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56), Damage Control Assistant in USS CARR (FFG 52), and Weapons / Combat Systems Officer in USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66). He also served as Assistant Surface Operations Officer on the staff of Commander, Carrier Strike Group EIGHT embarked in USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER.
Ashore, LCDR Maynard was the Security Force Assistance Detachment Officer-in-Charge at the Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training Command (MCAST). During this tour he completed an Individual Augmentee tour as Executive Officer, U.S. Navy Military Police Battalion Afghanistan (TASK GROUP TRIDENT) stationed at the Detainee Facility in Parwan, Bagram Afghanistan.
LCDR Maynard’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various campaign and unit awards.
