Master Chief Petty Officer Cameron entered Naval Service from Marion, Illinois in 1997. He attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois.Upon completion of Basic Training, he attended Operations Specialist "A" School at Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic in Damn Neck, Virginia.

Master Chief Cameron's first sea duty assignment was onboard USS GETTYSBURG (CG-64) homeported in Mayport, Florida. Follow on tours include Fleet Area Control Surveillance Facility Jacksonville, USS BOONE (FFG-28), CJTF-1 Joint Operations Center Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, And Afloat Training Group Mayport.

In March 2012, Master Chief Cameron was selected for the Command Master Chief Program and reported as the Command Master Chief onboard USS TAYLOR (FFG-50) in December 2012.

Master Chief Cameron's academic achievements include an Associate's Degree in Administrative Management, Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education, and graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 168).

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialists, and variousother unit and campaign awards.
