OSCS Gary Jefferson Senior Enlisted Leader
Senior Chief Jefferson graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island Illinois, enlisted in the United States Navy February 1990. He enlisted as a Seaman Recruit, completing Recruit Training in Great Lakes Illinois and Operations Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck Virginia.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty to the USS WORDEN (CG 18) as an Operations Specialist. His other sea duty assignments include USS CUSHING (DD 985), USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37) and USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70). His shore assignments include Air Test and evaluation squadron nine, PT MUGU California, Commander Patrol Reconnaissance Force 7th/5th Fleet, and Commander Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific where he served as Assistant Operations Officer.
Additionally, Senior Chief Jefferson is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (class 167, Purple) and Command Leadership School; Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course of instruction in Newport Rhode Island.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (8), Good Conduct (7), and various unit and campaign awards
