Lieutenant Commander John Lepak Executive Officer

LCDR John Lepak was commissioned in 1997 from the NROTC Program at the University of Michigan, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University. His first sea tour was in USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42), forward deployed to Sasebo Japan, where he served as Weapons Officer deploying in support of FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleets. LCDR Lepak then reported to AMPHIBIOUS SQUADRON ELEVEN as Information Systems Officer, also forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan.
Following his initial sea tours, he served as Executive Assistant to Assistant Commander, Navy Personnel Command for Distribution in Millington, TN. While in Millington, he also served as a Surface Junior Officer Detailer in PERS 41.
After Department Head school, LCDR Lepak served as Engineer Officer in USS ROBERT G BRADLEY (FFG 49) where he deployed in support of Counter Narco-Terrorism Operations in the SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility. Following his 1st Department Head tour, he served as Material Readiness Officer (N4) for Commander, Amphibious Squadron Seven and deployed through three numbered fleets in support of BONHOMME RICHARD EXPEDITIONARY STRIKE GROUP’s 2007 WESTPAC deployment. While deployed, he played a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of six strike group assets supporting missions ranging from Maritime Security in the Arabian Gulf to Amphibious Operations for the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s movement into Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Following his second department head tour, LCDR Lepak earned a Master of Military Art and Science degree as well as Joint Professional Military Education, Phase I at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He reported to OPNAV N41 in August 2009, and completed a year-long Individual Augmentee deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
His personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and various service and unit decorations.
LCDR Lepak reported as Executive Officer in USS ROBERT G BRADLEY (FFG 49) in April 2012.
