Master Chief Sean Brown is a native of Victoria, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Health Care Administration) and is currently working on a Masters of Business Administration and Performance Psychology.

Master Chief Brown enlisted in the Navy on 22 July 1992; attending Basic Training, Storekeeper A School and Basic Enlisted Submarine School before reporting to USS Cavalla (SSN 684) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He then attended Hospital Corpsman A school and upon graduation was assigned to Fleet Surgical Team Three, USS Peleliu (LHA 5). CMDCM Brown attended Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman C School, was meritoriously promoted to HM1, and subsequently reported to USS Juneau (LPD 10) homeported in Sasebo, Japan. After his first successful IDC tour he reported to 2D Marine Division at Camp Lejeune where he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and served with 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, 2D Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as well as deploying to Ramadi, Iraq from February to October 2006 with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His single shore assignment was an instructor and Medical Department LCPO tour at the Naval School for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He then transferred to USS BATAAN (LHD 5) homeported in Norfolk, Virginia and served as the Medical Department LCPO. CMDCM Brown was selected for the Command Senior Chief program and spent one year on Individual Augmentee orders assigned to MCM CREW OLYMPIAN embarked in USS Chief (MCM 14) and USS Dextrous (MCM 13). CMDCM Brown then reported to MCM Crew DOMINANT embarked in USS Champion (MCM 4).

CMDCM Brown is a graduate of Navy Dive School (NEC 5345), Field Medical Service School (NEC 8404), Journeyman Instructor Course (NEC 9502) and the Army Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. He is a Master Training Specialist and graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 153) as well as the CMC/COB Course.

Master Chief Brown’s personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards), Combat Action Ribbon, Army Combat Medical Badge and various campaign and unit awards.
