MCPO(SW/AW) Reginald L. McCallum
Command Master Chief
Master Chief McCallum hails from Fairmont, NC. He joined the Navy on the delayed entry program and reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL in October 1989. After graduation, he attended Operations Specialist “A” at Fleet Combat Training Center Damneck VA. Master Chief McCallum’s initial tour was in USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67) where he served as a Anti-Submarine Air Controller and Watch Supervisor. Upon completion of his tour Master Chief McCallum reported to USS BAINBRIDGE (CGN-25). In 1996 he reported to Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic, Damneck VA where he served as an Instructor. In 1999, he completed Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller School (ASTAC) and reported to USS MITSCHER (DDG-57). In 2000 Master Chief McCallum advanced to First Class Petty Officer and assumed duties as Operations Intelligence Division Leading Petty Officer.
In August 2003, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer and in 2004, reported to USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG-57) where he served as Operations Intelligence Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. While on-board, he was selected to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and assumed duties as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. After a successful tour on USS REUBEN JAMES, he transferred to Fleet Anti-Submarine Training Center Pacific in San Diego, CA, where he served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer for ASTAC School.
During tour, he completed an Individual Augmentee assignment in Balad Iraq, where he served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Joint Airborne Battle Staff (JABS). He reported to Special Operations Command (SOCCENT) at Madill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. serving as the SEA for the Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC). He was selected to Master Chief in 2011 and terminated shore duty to report to USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. After completing it’s final deployment, he reported to Defense Equal Opportunity Institute School (DEOMI) and reported to the United States Naval Academy as the Command Climate Specialist in 2014.
Master Chief McCallum is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 154, Blue) and Command Master Chief Class 150 in Newport, RI.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1), Air Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal (1), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2) and Navy and Marine Corps Achieve Medal (8) and various other personal and unit awards.
