MCPO(SW/EXW/PJ)Kim FeroniCommand Master Chief
Master Chief Feroni is a native of Bloomington, MN. He enlisted in the Navy in October 1993 under the delayed entry program and completed Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.
After completing Operation Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck, VA, he reported to the USS Shasta (AE 33) home ported in Concord, Ca. After a split tour onboard SHASTA he transferred to USNS Kiska (T-AE 35) where he subsequently was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. Upon completion of his tour he transferred to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Minneapolis for recruiting duty in 1998.
In June 2002, he headed to PCU Preble (DDG 88) in Pascagoula, MS. The ship was commissioned in Boston, Massachusetts in November 2002. While aboard USS Preble, he completed one Western Pacific deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism and promoted to First Class Petty Officer. Master Chief then reported to NRD San Diego for recruiting duty in January 2006, where he was assigned as the Recruiter-in-Charge of NRS Escondido and as the Navy Special Warfare Coordinator. During his tour at NRD San Diego he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
In December of 2008 he transferred to SEAL Team Seven as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Combat Support personnel. During his tour he completed three combat deployment tours to Iraq and the Middle East region in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Additionally, he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
In April 2014 he reported to Joint Functional Component Command - Space, Missile Warning Center, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Colorado Springs, CO where he was assigned as the Navy element Senior Enlisted Leader.
Selected as CMC in 2016, he completed CMC/COB in September 2016 and reported to USS Oscar Austin (DDG-79) as the Command Master Chief. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 185).
Master Chief Feroni is a recipient of various personal and campaign awards including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards). He is qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS), Expeditionary Warfare (EXW) and Navy Parachutist (PJ) insignia.
