CMDCM(SW/AW/IDW/EXW/PJ) Allen V. Keller
Command Master Chief
Born in Neptune City, NJ and raised on Long Island, NY, Master Chief Keller graduated from Connetquot High School in June 1990. He enlisted in the Navy and reported for Recruit Training Command San Diego, California, January 1993.
Master Chief Keller completed Data Processing Technician Class ‘A’ and ‘C’ schools before reporting to the USS INDEPENDENCE (CV-62) at Yokosuka, Japan. His subsequent sea and overseas duty assignments include USS NIMITZ (CVN-68), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73), and DISA-Europe at Stuttgart Germany. Deployments include service in South West Asia, Arabian Gulf, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea, and Afghanistan.
His shore duty assignments include United States Atlantic Command, later renamed United States Joint Forces Command at Norfolk, VA, Joint Communications Unit (JCU), FT Bragg, NC, Naval Station Norfolk (Administrative Department). Master Chief Keller is currently the Command Master Chief for USS PORTER (DDG 78) home ported in Norfolk, VA.
Along with multiple unit and campaign awards, Master Chief Keller’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards).
Master Chief Keller holds an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Tidewater Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Excelsior College and a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Trident University. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Non-Resident Course (Class 13) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 124).
