CDR Blair H. Guy

Commander Guy enlisted in the US Navy in 1991 as a nuclear Machinist Mate. Selected for the nuclear enlisted commissioning program, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Auburn University and was commissioned upon completion of Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.

At sea, CDR Guy served as the Combat Information Center Division Officer and Gunnery Officer in USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) and as the Reactor Laboratories Division Officer in USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73). As a Department Head, CDR Guy served as Operations Officer in USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) and Reactor Electrical Assistant while pre-commissioning USS GEORGE H W BUSH (CVN 77).

While ashore, CDR Guy served as Assistant Strategy Officer for Director, Strategy and Policy (N5), US Naval Forces Europe, Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board Inspector for Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Joint Experimentation Branch Chief for Director Policy, Strategy, Partnering and Capabilities (J5/8), US European Command. He earned his Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University and completed his Joint Professional Military education through the USAF Staff College and Joint Forces Staff College.

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (Second award), Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Second Award), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Third Award) and various unit and service awards.
