Commander Stacey Yopp Commanding Officer

Commander Stacey Yopp, U.S. Navy, is a native of Weirsdale, Florida. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1994 majoring in Mathematics. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from US Air Force’s Air University.
Commander Yopp completed his Division Officer tours in USS OLDENDORF (DD 972) in San Diego, CA where he was the Fire Control Officer, Auxiliaries Officer and the Ship’s Maintenance and Material Officer; and aboard USS YORKTOWN (CG 48) in Pascagoula, MS where he was the Navigator and CIC Officer. His Department Head tours were aboard USS JOHN S MCCAIN (DDG 56) in Yokosuka, Japan, and USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) in San Diego where he was the Engineer Officer on both ships. He served as Executive Officer aboard USS CURTS (FFG 38) in San Diego, CA, and USS ROSS (DDG 71) in Norfolk, VA.
Ashore, he has been assigned to the staffs of the Commander, US THIRD Fleet assigned to the N5 Directorate; and Commander, US FIFTH Fleet as the Current Operations Director.
