Command Master Chief
Master Chief Petty Officer Stephens entered Naval Service from Orlando, Florida in 1989. He attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of Basic Training, he attended Operations Specialist “A” School at Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Master Chief Stephens’s sea duty assignments include: USS MACDONOUGH (DDG 39), USS REASONER (FF 1063), USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) and USS VICKSBURG (CG 69).
Master Chief Stephens’s shore assignments are Fleet Area and Surveillance Facility Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Fleet Area and Surveillance Facility Jacksonville, Florida and Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida.
In February 2013, Master Chief Stephens was selected for the Command Master Chief Program and presently serves as USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Stephens is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class and the CMC/COB Command Leadership Course.
His personal decorations include Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (Five Awards), Navy Achievement Medal (Four Awards), Combat Action Medal and various other unit and campaign awards.
