Ombudsman
The Ombudsman is appointed by, reports to, and represents the commanding officer, and:
- Acts as the primary link between the command families and the command.
- Acts as the primary communicator of information between the command and the command families.
- Provides information on family programs, community resource, pertinent local and base phone numbers, and ship’s movements and arrival times when released by the command.
- Points families in the right direction to get the help they need.
