Commander Ian Scaliatine
Commander Ian Scaliatine is a native of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2000.
At sea, he served as the Repair Division Officer aboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44), the Fire Control and Assistant Operations Officer aboard USS BULKELEY (DDG 84), and as MCM CREW SWERVE’s Chief Engineer aboard USS SENTRY (MCM 3) and USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11). He assumed command of MCM CREW SWERVE and commanded SENTRY, GLADIATOR, and USS DEVASTATOR (MCM 6). He most recently completed his tour as Executive Officer of USS MITSCHER (DDG 57).
His staff assignments include serving as a Tomahawk instructor at the Center for Surface Combat Systems, Dam Neck, Virginia, Navy Strategy and Policy (OPNAV N51) action officer, and special assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Commander Scaliatine received a Master of Arts in Economics from Old Dominion University and completed joint professional education through the Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff College. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal as well as other service awards.
