CMDCM(SW/AW) Torrence L. Kelly
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Kelly is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, September 1990. After completing Recruit Training at Recruit Training Command San Diego, he attended AC(A1) School Millington, TN.
He received orders to Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL 1991-94. In May 1994, he was stationed onboard the USS BOXER (LHD 4) commissioning her in March 1995 – “Plankowner”.
Master Chief Kelly served at Naval Air Station North Island, CA 1997-02, Tactical Air Control Squadron (TACRON) TWELVE 03-06, and the USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) 06-09. In 2005, he was proudly advanced to Chief Petty Officer.
February 2009, he volunteered for GWOT Support Assignment (GSA) orders to Iraq as the Operations Leading Chief Petty Officer. February 2010, he is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy – class Gray/150. He qualified as Master Training Specialist at Naval Aviation Technical Training Center Pensacola, FL 10-13. He was assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader of TACRON TWO TWO 13-15. He is a graduate of the Command Master Chief Course – class 141 and he is currently assigned to the USS BARRY (DDG 52).
Master Chief Kelly’s personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Iraq Campaign Medal, and other various unit and personal awards.
