Command Master Chief Roger Harding is a native of Binghamton, NY. In May 1988 he enlisted in the United States Navy and attended Recruit Training Command San Diego, CA in August 1988.
 
Master Chief Harding sea tours include onboard USS HEPBURN (FF-1055), USS MCCANDLESS (FF-1084) where he served as deck supervisor; USS SAMUEL E. MORRISON (FFG-13), USS ESTOCIN (FFG-15) where he serve as deck supervisor. Inshore Boat Unit 28 where he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader; USS BOONE (FFG-28) WHERE HE SERVED AS THE Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer; Maritime Expeditionary Boat Division 102, where he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader; USS KLAKRING (FFG-42) , where he served as the Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer; USS WASP (LHD-1), where he served as the Deck Departments Leading Chief Petty Officer and currently USS TRUXTUN (DDG-103) where he is serving as Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Harding shore tours include the Navy and Marine Corp Reserve Center Grand Rapids, MI  where he served as Training Petty Officer and the Naval Operation Support Command Norfolk, VA where he served as Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Harding is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Leadership School in Newport RI.
 
Master Chief Harding is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and the Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist.
 
Master Chief Harding is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
