CMDCM(SW/AW) Albert L. McCurdy
Command Master Chief
Master Chief McCurdy is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He began his naval career in June 1986 attending Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida, followed by Yeoman “A” School at Naval Technical Training Center, Meridian, Mississippi.
His tours included Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 61 (VR 61), Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington; Commander, Naval Reserve Readiness Command Region Ten, New Orleans, Louisiana; USS ANTRIM (FFG 20), Naval Station Mobile, Alabama; Commander, Naval Surface Reserve Force, New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1999 he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 203 (VFA 203), NAS Atlanta, Georgia. He reported to Commander, Carrier Air Wing Reserve TWENTY (CVWR 20) in November 1999. In 2002 he reported to Naval Reserve Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. From there he reported to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 51 (VR 51), MCB Kaneohe, Hawaii. He then transferred to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion ONE (shore) in 2007. In 2010 he transferred to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion ONE (sea) where he was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. In September 2013 he reported to USS TRUXTUN (DDG 103) to serve as the Command Master Chief.
Master Chief McCurdy is a 2007 graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 134 (Brown Group) and in 2013 completed the Command Master Chief/ Chief of the Boat course in Newport, Rhode Island.
Master Chief McCurdy’s personal awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy/Marine Achievement Medal (six awards) and several other unit and personal awards. Master Chief McCurdy holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii.
