Commander Kevin R. Casagrande
Executive Officer

 

CDR Kevin Casagrande is a native of California, who received his commission via the Reserve Officer's Training Corps in May 2000. He holds degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Electrical Engineering. In October 2016 CDR Casagrande assumed duties as the Executive Officer on board USS TRUXTUN (DDG 103).

CDR Casagrande’s operational tours include tours on a variety of surface navy platforms at six different sea-going commands. During these tours, CDR Casagrande completed numerous deployments in support of strategic partnerships and humanitarian efforts in the Western Pacific, Middle East, Mediterranean, and Black Sea. He has filled a diverse variety of billets in communications, operations, and engineering departments. In addition, CDR Casagrande was an active member of ship's company throughout multiple arduous maintenance periods, including several extended Type Commander availabilities and drydock periods.

Ashore, CDR Casagrande competed several major staff tours at both the Type Commander and Chief of Naval Operations level. During these tours he held   responsibilities in a variety of fields,including maintenance planning, acquisitions, budgeting and programming, project management,and training and assessment.

CDR Casagrande’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal(five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal,Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and various lesser awards and decorations.
