ITCM(SW/AW) Craig T. Harris Senior Enlisted Leader
Master Chief Harris is a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School, where he starred in football, basketball and track. He enlisted in the Navy’s Delayed Entry Program in May 1991, entering the service in October of the same year.
He attended basic training and Radioman “A” school in San Diego, CA. He was meritoriously advanced one paygrade after being named” Company 003’s Honorman”. In April 1992, he reported onboard USS GUAM (LPH-9) in Norfolk, Va; serving as the Message Center Supervisor. Master Chief Harris was Command Advanced to Petty Officer Third Class and received three of what would become seven Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
In May 1996, he reported to NCTAMS LANT where he served as the Technical Control Operator and Technical Control Watch Officer. During this tour he was advance to Petty Officer Second Class.
Master Chief Harris next reported to USS SAIPAN (LHA-2) where he advanced to Petty Officer First Class and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare and Aviation Warfare Specialist qualifications. He also earned the distinction of being named USS SAIPAN, Sailor of the Year 2004.
In June 2004, he reported to Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center. While attending school, he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer. Master Chief Harris then reported to Cruise Missile Support Activity Atlantic as the Operations LCPO.
In August 2007, Master Chief Harris reported to Afloat Planning Systems Atlantic as the Operations LCPO, Assistant Security Manager and Senior Enlisted Advisor until the command disestablished in August 2009.
Master Chief Harris then returned to arduous sea duty onboard USS IWO JIMA (LHD-7). While aboard, he served as the Communications LCPO, Command ESWS Coordinator and held various other collateral duties.
ITCM Harris reported to Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Atlantic on September 16th 2011 and served as the Combat Systems LCPO. Currently he serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader and Assistant Communications Officer in Commander, Amphibious Squadron SIX.
Personal awards include: Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (7) and Good Conduct (7).
