What is an Ombudsman?

Our Ombudsman is a spouse of a PHIBRON 4 service member who has volunteered her time to act as a central point of information and aid for our families. She serves as an information referral specialist and will also work to point you in the right direction to help you solve problems on your own.

The Role of an Ombudsman

  • Serve as the primary link/liaison between families and the command. Serve as a communicator of information between the command and command families.
  • Communicate regularly with families.
  • Provide information and outreach to command family members.

Interact and cooperate with organizations and military offices such as Fleet and Family Service Centers, chaplain's office, medical treatment facilities, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, American Red Cross, and legal assistance offices. These organizations are valuable resources in obtaining assistance for command family members.
