DCCS (SW/AW) Scott Klimko Senior Enlisted Leader
Enlisted 3 March 1988 attended basic training San Diego Ca. Completed A School Treasure Island Ca. and reported aboard USS Joseph Hewes FF1078 home ported in Charleston South Carolina. Completed two deployments and a robust two year LEO patrol mission in the Caribbean transiting the Panama Canal on three occasions patrolling the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Transferred to Weapons Station Earle New Jersey 1992 through 1994 to the USS Nitro AE 23 completing 6 Trans Atlantic voyages to Edinboro Scotland and Rota Spain during the Gulf War. Transferred to the SIMA Earle facility and completed 2 years shore duty working as R1-QAS with the QA Department and responsible for the refurbishment and set up of a new small boat repair shop. Moved to Norfolk Va and spent two years aboard the USS Supply AOE 6 designated as LPO for the aft engine room on the Navy’s largest gas turbine platform to date. Looking for a new challenge sought out acceptance in the special programs Landing Craft Air Cushion community.
Completed LCAC engineer course and was the first and only Damage Controlman in the US Fleet designated LCAC Engineer at the time. Completed a four year tour with one deployment three work up cycles prior to reporting to Commander Naval Beach Group Two. Serving as Senior LCAC Engineer Atlantic Fleet, he reported directly to the Commodore as LCAC Subject Matter Expert for all operational and training matters.
Completed LCAC Craftmaster course in 2006 and reported to ACU4 as Craftmaster for LCAC 85. Deployed Jan 2008 as LCPO Detachment Delta onboard USS Ashland. Returned and became LCTT team leader over seeing all LCAC inter-deployment training cycle requirements. Hand selected to serve as LCPO Detachment Delta October 2009 to complete ISIC/TYCOM training requirements. Deployed to Haiti Jan 2010 deployed for three months as LCPO Detachment Delta. Completed four month deployment as Detachment LCPO USS Carter Hall Jan-May 2010. Completed Senior Enlisted Advisor Course class 161 and reported to Commander Naval Beach Group Two as SEA and Senior LCAC Advisor.
