Lieutenant Commander Jeffery J. Murawski
Lieutenant Commander Murawski is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School after graduating from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics.
After attending Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, RI, he reported to USS PORTER (DDG 78), where he served as First Lieutenant and Auxiliaries Officer. During his tour, PORTER completed a deployment to the Fifth Fleet AOR in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and operated in the Sixth Fleet AOR with the NATO Standing Naval Forces Mediterranean. PORTER was awarded two Battle Efficiency awards and the ASW Bloodhound award during his tour. For his second Division Officer tour, LCDR Murawski served as the Operations Officer for MHC Crew PRESTIGE onboard USS FALCON (MHC 59), where he was part of the decommissioning crew.
His Department Head tour was in USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106) as Operations Officer. While onboard STOCKDALE, he completed the ship’s maiden deployment in the Seventh Fleet AOR and completed SM-6 testing on the way back from deployment.
LCDR Murawski’s most recent sea assignment was as Commanding Officer, USS ARDENT (MCM 12). He executed XO/CO fleet up with MCM Crew BULWARK, completing a rotational Fifth Fleet deployment while XO and another while in command of USS SENTRY (MCM 3).
LCDR Murawski’s first shore assignment was as Flag Lieutenant for the Deputy, Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command. He then attended the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a Master’s degree in Applied Physics. He most recently completed a Master’s degree in Military History from the Army Command and General Staff College.
LCDR Murawski’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
