SCPO(SW/AW) Nathaniel A. Roach
Command Master Chief

Click for high resolutionSenior Chief Nathaniel A Roach, a native of Arkansas and graduate of High School in 1998 enlisted in the Navy in April 2000.  He attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.

Following Basic Training he attended Technical Core, Electronics Technician “A” School and Meteorological Technician Systems “C” School.  After “C” School, he was assigned to Naval Auxiliary Landing Field Orange Grove, Texas from September 2001 through August 2003. 
He was assigned to USS O’KANE (DDG 77) as a EHF SATCOM and SRQ-4 Technician from December 2003 through December 2007 where he was also selected as Junior Sailor of the Year for 2006.
He was assigned to Training Support Center Great Lakes as a Naval Military Training Instructor from February 2008 through January 2012 where he was also selected as the Naval Education and Training Command Instructor of the Year Runner up for First class Petty Officer Category. While stationed in Great Lakes he was also sent to Central Command Iraq and station with the 450th Civil Affairs Battalion and then transferred to Sather Air Base as a Navy Liaison Officer from October 2008 to September 2009.
He was assigned to USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8) as a SHF SATCOM and EHF SATCOM technician from March 2012 through September 2012. In August 2012 he was selected for advancement to E7 and accepted as a Chief Petty Officer and concurrently, was assigned to USS SPRUANCE (DDG-111) from October 2012 through October 2015 as CE Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, as well as a SRQ-4 and CBSP SATCOM technician.
He was assigned to USS ANZIO (CG-68) where he currently served as the Combat Systems Department LCPO, after attending Senior Enlisted Academy en route. He currently serves as the 3M Coordinator and the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (1 award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards) and the Good Conduct Medal (five awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology on March 2012.
Senior Chief Roach is married and has two children.
