Captain William "Grady" Musser
CAPT Grady Musser graduated from U.S. Naval Academy with the class of 1996. His first sea assignment was aboard USS WASP (LHD 1) as the Main Propulsion
Division Officer and as the Engineering Training Officer. CAPT Musser served his second division officer tour aboard the USS MCFAUL (DDG 74) as the Fire Control Officer. As a department head, CAPT Musser served as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard the USS CARNEY (DDG 64). Most recently at sea, CAPT Musser served as Executive Officer and then fleeted-up as the Commanding Officer of USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99).
CAPT Musser’s shore tours have included serving on the OPNAV staff in the Surface Warfare Directorate as the Standard Missile Requirements Officer and as the executive assistant to the Deputy Director for Surface Systems and Weapons (N86F). CAPT Musser served on the personal staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Strategic Action Group (N00Z). CAPT Musser completed a joint tour at the US Pacific Command as the Data Fusion / BMD Integration officer and the executive assistant to the Director of Operations. After command at sea, CAPT Musser served as the TLAM Department Head at Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center. Most recently ashore, CAPT Musser served as the executive assistant to the Director of Surface Warfare on the OPNAV Staff (OPNAV N96).
CAPT Musser graduated with distinction from the Naval Postgraduate School with a Masters degree in National Security Affairs. His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal and a variety of unit and campaign awards.
