Senior Enlisted Leader
Senior Chief Campbell, a native of Watertown, New York, enlisted in the United States Navy in May 1997. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center San Diego, California where he completed Sonar Technician Surface (STG) ‘A’ and ‘C’ school training.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty onboard USS ARTUR W. RADFOR (DD 968) as an AN/SQS-53B technician. During his time onboard he served as Work Center Supervisor and Leading Petty Officer during two deployments to the 6th and 5th Fleet. His recent fleet assignments include Senior Enlisted Advisor and ASW Specialist for COMMANDER DESTROYER SQUADRON TWO Norfolk, VA; where he embarked onboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), completing a successful deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Chief Campbell completed Warrior Training in Fort Bliss, Texas and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) Engagement Operations Cell LCPO. Senior Chief Campbell has completed shore assignments at Submarine Learning Center Norfolk, VA as ASW Onboard Trainer Course Supervisor; Center for Surface Combat System Detachment East Norfolk, VA as ASW Evaluator and Basic Acoustic Analysis LCPO; and Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment Norfolk, VA as SEL and Weapons Department LCPO in support of creating and implementing ASW Advanced Warfare Training. Senior Chief Campbell graduated from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 183, Gray Group.
Senior Chief Campbell is currently serving as COMMANDER DESTROYER SQUADRON TWO ASW Specialist and Senior Enlisted Advisor, onboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75).
His decorations include: Enlisted Surface and Aviation Warfare Specialist, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
