Captain John F.G. Wade

 Captain John Wade is a native of Port Washington, New York and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.

 Wade’s assignments at sea include Combat Information Center Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, Gunnery Officer and Strike Warfare Officer in USS ARTHUR W. RADFORD (DD 968); Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS BENFOLD (DDG 68); Commanding Officer in USS FIREBOLT (PC 10); Executive Officer in USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71); and, Commanding Officer in USS PREBLE (DDG 88).  Throughout his career he has completed multiple deployments and supported numerous operations including Operations Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. 

 Ashore, Captain Wade has served as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations; Executive Assistant to the Director of the Navy Quadrennial Defense Review Team; and, Deputy Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  Wade also served with the Army’s 10th Mountain and 82nd Airborne Divisions as Commanding Officer of Joint / Interagency Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) – Khost, Afghanistan.    

 Captain Wade holds a B.S. in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, a M.S. in Information Systems Technology from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and a M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington D.C. 

 Personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Army Combat Action Badge, and various meritorious, service and campaign awards.  He is also the recipient of the Vice Admiral E.C. Waller and Vice Admiral John D. Bulkeley Leadership Awards.
