Captain Cary Krause

Captain Cary Krause hails from Quakertown, Pennsylvannia and graduated from the Naval Academy in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics (Operational Analysis).

Captain Krause served as the Commanding Officer of USS COLE (DDG 67). His Executive Officer tour was on USS MITSCHER (DDG 57). Prior to this tour, he served as Flag Secretary on the Commander, Carrier Group Three staff. His Department Head sea tours included Combat Systems Officer on USS HIGGINS (DDG 76) and Combat Systems Officer on USS TAYLOR (FFG 50). As a Division Officer, he served as the Ordnance Officer and Combat Information Officer on USS JOHN L HALL (FFG 32).

Upon completion of his initial sea tour, he reported to Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he received a Master’s of Science Degree in System Engineering (Electronic Warfare). During his next shore assignment, he served on the Chief of Naval Operations staff in the Warfighting Assessment Division of Director Navy Resources, Requirements, and Assessments (N81). He then attended the Joint Force Staff College and completed the Joint Advanced Warfighting School curriculum (JAWS) and earned a Master of Science in Campaign Planning and Strategy. He also served as an Executive Assistant on the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations Staff for Information Dominance. Prior to reporting to Destroyer Squadron TWO SIX, he served on the Joint Staff as a Branch Chief in the Solutions Evaluation Division in Suffolk, VA.

Among his awards are the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and several other unit awards.
