ITCS(IDW/SW/AW) David Berrien
Senior Enlisted Advisor

ITCS(IDW/SW/AW) Berrien hails from Troy, NY. He began his Naval Career in September 1993 enlisting in the Navy in Albany, New York and attended recruit training in Orlando, Fl.

Seaman Apprentice Berrien reported to ET "A"school in Orlando, Fl with follow-on training in Great Lakes. 11. In January 1995, SN Berrien reported to USS Clark (FFG 11) as an undesignated Seaman. He struck out of Deck to become a Radioman, and transferred in December 1998 as a Radioman Second Class.

He reported to NCTAMS LANT Norfolk in January 1999 where he served as JFTOC Fleet Operations Supervisor until 2002. 1T1 Berrien joined the fleet again transferring to Commander Carrier Strike Group Eight, Norfolk Va. He proudly served there from Apr 2002 - Feb 2006 there he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. While at CCSG-8, he earned Sailor of the Year honors, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist designations.

In February 2006, ITC(IDW/SW/AW) Berrien reported to Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command and served as the Navy Information Assurance Manager and Vulnerability Analysis & Assistance Program LCPO. He then served on USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) as LCPO of Combat Systems department and Radio Chief from Nov 2008 - Nov 2011. During this tour he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Following completion of Advanced Network Analyst school he reported to Naval Special Warfare Group TWO Mobile Communications Team. He served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor Mobile Communications Team TWO; Little Creek Va from February 2012 to September 2014. He reported to Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO on 19 September, 2014 and is serving as the Senior Enlisted Advisor and Squadron Communications Officer.

ITCS(IDW/SW/AW) Berrien has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal (5) and various other unit and personal citations.
