Commander Jeffrey T. Grant

Commander Grant is a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Upon commissioning he reported to USS Denver (LPD-9) in San Diego, were he served in deck and engineering. In May 1999, he reported onboard USS Tippecanoe (TAO-199) as the Military Detachment OIC. In December 2003, Commander Grant completed department head school and joined the FDNF Navy as the 1st Lieutenant in USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49), stationed in Sasebo Japan. Returning to San Diego in July 2005 for his second Department Head tour, Commander Grant served as the Operations Officer in USS Cleveland (LPD-7). In early January 09 he returned to Sasebo and assumed the role of the Executive Officer of USS Tortuga (LSD-46).

Ashore he served at Annapolis as the 29th Company Officer, as well as an instructor for professional development courses and offshore sailing from 2000-2003.

Commander Grant transferred his commission to the Naval Reserve in 2006. During his brief shore duty as a civilian he was the Director of Refinery Operations for Thought Equity Motion. In October 2007, Commander Grant was recalled to active duty as an Individual Augmentee assigned to Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center (ECRC) in Little Creek, VA. He served as the OIC for the Navy’s IA training at Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Dix, New Jersey. In November of 2008 Commander Grant reported to Expeditionary Strike Group Seven (ESG-7) in Okinawa as the Operational Support and Plans Officer. In September 2010 Commander Grant assumed command of Navy Operational Support Center Knoxville. In July 2013 he began studies at the Army War College in Carlisle, PA and received a Masters of Strategic Studies in June 2014.

Commander Grant assumed his current duties April 15, 2016. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy achievement Medal, and various service and campaign awards.
