UNDERSEA
WARFARE Magazine is proud to present the winners, and some of the
best runners-up, of our 5th Annual Undersea Warfare Photo Contest.
The entries this year reflect the
substantial contributions that submarines made in Operation Iraqi
Freedom, an increased focus on force protection and security, and
an overwhelming sense of pride, professionalism, and teamwork in
the U.S. Submarine Force as a whole. Our editors were also pleased
to see entries showing submariners at play - blowing off some steam
after a job well done. From routine damage control training to unprecedented
special operations, from war-time deployments to hard-earned homecomings,
the photos you sent portray the Submarine Force in all its variety.
As always,
special thanks are in order to the Naval Submarine League, which
has sponsored the contest since its inception. With their continued
support and the hard work and creativity of photographers throughout
the fleet, the photo contest will continue to provide a unique
opportunity for submariners and the entire submarine community
to show their pride in the U.S. Submarine Force.
