USS Mississippi (SSN 782) departs Naval Submarine Base
The Virginia-class attack submarine USS Mississippi (SSN 782) departs Naval Submarine Base, New London, Conn., en route to its new homeport at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Mississippi, formerly assigned to Commander, Submarine Squadron Four in Groton, Conn., will be assigned to Commander, Submarine Squadron One in Pearl Harbor. Currently under the command of Cmdr. Tory J. Swanson, Mississippi was the ninth Virginia-class to be commissioned, June 1, 2012 at Pascagoula, Miss.
USS Annapolis (SSN 760) Returns from Deployment

USS Norfolk (SSN 714) Change of Command

Christopher Polk during a change of command ceremony held on board Norfolk, Oct 10. The Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Norfolk recently completed its final deployment in August 2014 and is scheduled for deactivation next year.
USS North Dakota Commissioning Ceremony
Sailors assigned to the Virginia-class attack submarine USS North Dakota (SSN 784) man the ship as they "bring the ship to life" during North Dakota's commissioning ceremony. North Dakota is the 11th Virginia-class attack submarine to join the fleet, and the first of eight Block III Virginia-class submarines to be built. The Block III submarines are being built with new Virginia Payload Tubes designed to lower costs and increase missile-firing payload possibilities. North Dakota is the second Navy ship, and first submarine, to be named in honor of the people of "The Peace Garden State."
