SECDEF Visits Kings Bay
Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) Chuck Hagel speaks with Cmdr. Christopher Bohner, Commanding Officer, USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) (Gold), during a tour of Tennessee while aboard Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Hagel toured Kings Bay as one of three installations in the Southeast United States to highlight key investments the Department of Defense is making for the future.

Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy
Adm. Bill Gortney, commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command, presents the command leadership triad of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Wyoming (SSBN 742) (Gold), with the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy during a ceremony held aboard Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. The trophy is presented annually to the ship or squadron in the Atlantic and Pacific fleets that is considered the most improved.

Change of Command
GROTON, Conn. (July 18, 2014) - Cmdr. Daniel Lombardo, commanding officer of USS Springfield (SSN 761), passes the side boys as he departs following a change of command ceremony. Cmdr. Lombardo relieved Cmdr. Christian Williams as the new commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class attack submarine aboard the Historic Ship Nautilus.
