 Master Chief Fire Control Technician Keith Nelson

Master Chief Nelson, a native of Duxbury, Vermont, joined the Navy in January, 1990 and attended recruit training in Orlando, Florida.

Following recruit training; he attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School and reported to his first submarine, the USS Sea Devil (SSN 664).

Following his tour, he attended Fire Control Technician "A" and "C" schools.

Master Chief Nelson's assignments include USS Miami (SSN 755); USS Springfield (SSN 761); USS Jacksonville (SSN 699); NAVSEASYSCOM PMS 425; Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic Fleet (TRE Team) and Commander, Submarine Squadron Six.

In 2007, he was selected to be the Chief of the Boat on board USS Albany (SSN 753). While serving on USS Albany, he deployed to the Arabian Sea and the Northern Atlantic. In November 2010, Master Chief Nelson relieved as the Navy Submarine Torpedo Facility CMC.

Master Chief Nelson is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
