Cmdr. Steve Antcliff
USS Virginia (SSN 774)
Cmdr. Steve Antcliff enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear Machinist's Matein November 1990. He graduated from the University of Fla. with a B.S. in Business Administration and was commissioned in 1996 through the Enlisted Commissioning Program.
After attending Naval Nuclear Power Training and the Submarine Officer Basic Course in 1997, he transferred to USS Narwhal (SSN 671) where he served as Reactor Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant. During his time on board Narwhal, the boat completed a Mediterranean deployment and decommissioned the boat.
Antcliff reported to USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul (SSN 708), where he served as the Assistant Weapons Officer. While on board, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul completed a SOUTHCOM deployment. In 2004 he reported to USS Connecticut (SSN 22) where he served as the Engineering Officer and completed a CENTCOM deployment and the boat was awarded the Battle Efficiency "E". In 2009, he reported to USS Miami (SSN 755) to serve as the Executive Officer. While on board the Miami, he completed an extended EUCOM deployment.
Antcliff has served ashore in many different assignments, to include Submarine Watch Officer and Regional Employment Officer on the staff of Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic. Most recently he attended the Naval War College where he earned a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
Cmdr. Antcliff's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various other unit and campaign awards.
