Cmdr. Sean Fujimoto, the son of SGM Ted Fujimoto, USA (Ret.), and Cindy Martin, enlisted in the Navy following graduation from Westover Senior High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1988. While successfully completing Nuclear Field “A” School as an Electronics Technician and Naval Nuclear Power School, he was selected to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI.  CDR Fujimoto then went on to graduate from the United States Naval Academy in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from The George Washington University.

Following initial submarine officer training, he reported for his first sea tour on the USS Alexandria (SSN 757) in January 1997. During this tour he served in various division officer positions and completed two Northern Atlantic deployments. Subsequent sea tours included Combat Systems Officer on the USS LOUISVILLE (SSN 724) completing one Western Pacific deployment and Executive Officer on the USS DALLAS (SSN 700) completing a deployment to the Central and European Command areas of responsibility and a major maintenance period at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Ashore, he served as the Regional Director for the Northeast and Enlisted Admission Officer in the United States Naval Academy Admissions Office. Following his Department Head tour, he served as the Tactical Development Officer and Operations Officer at COMSUBDEVRON FIVE. Most recently, CDR Fujimoto was assigned to the Joint Staff in Washington, DC serving as a Deputy Division Chief in the Directorate of Management.   

CDR Fujimoto is the third Commanding Officer of USS NEW HAMPSHIRE (SSN 778).
