Lt. Cmdr. Jesse Pruett
Executive Officer
USS Newport News (SSN 750)

 

Lt. Cmdr. Jesse Pruett is a native of Sardis, Tenn. He earned a Bachelors in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in May 2000. Following graduation he completed Naval Nuclear Propulsion pipeline training at NNPTC, Charlestown, S.C. and NPTU Ballston Spa, N.Y. (S8G prototype). He then completed the submarine officer basic course (SOBC) in New London, Conn. in November 2001.

Pruett reported to USS Dallas (SSN 700) for his first sea tour. While on board he completed two deployments and served as the Main Propulsion Assistant, Assistant Weapons Officer, Damage Control Assistant and Quality Assurance Officer. In November 2004, he reported to Navy Personnel Command and earned a Masters in Operations Management.

Following Submarine Officer Advanced Course (SOAC) where he was awarded the LY Spear Award as class honorman, Lt. Cmdr. Pruett reported to USS Pasadena (SSN 752) as Engineering Officer in May 2007. During this tour, the Ship completed two Western Pacific deployments. In March 2010, he transferred to COMSUBPAC as the continuing training programs manager.
