Lt. Cmdr. Michael Fisher graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. He was commissioned through the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program and reported to USS Norfolk (SSN 714) in 2002.  While stationed aboard Norfolk, he served in several division officer roles during an engineered refueling overhaul and subsequent crew certification. Following Norfolk’s certification, Fisher transferred to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 392 in the District of Columbia. At NAVSEA, he completed the Masters of Engineering Management program at Old Dominion University.

After completing the Submarine Officer Advanced Course, Fisher relieved as Navigator/Operations Officer on Norfolk in 2007 and completed a CENTCOM deployment.  After the unplanned loss of the Engineering Officer, Fisher relieved as Engineer and completed Selected Restricted Availability and a second CENTCOM deployment.  He then transferred to U.S. Fleet Forces Command Nuclear propulsion Examining Board.  He completed the Submarine Command Course in the fall of 2012 before reporting to his current position as Executive Officer aboard USS Boise (SSN 764).
