Cmdr. Todd S. Weeks
Commanding Officer

Cmdr. Weeks graduated with Merit from the United States Naval Academy in May 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture. While at the Naval Academy, he was the recipient of the Ship Design Project Award for outstanding student project in Naval Architecture. In June 2006 he graduated Cum Laude from Norwich University with a Master of Arts in Diplomacy.

After completing Nuclear Power and initial submarine training, Cmdr. Weeks reported to the new construction crew of USS SEAWOLF (SSN 21) in November 1994. Temporarily assigned to USS PROVIDENCE (SSN 719), he completed a combined Northern Atlantic and Mediterranean deployment and completed Submarine Qualification.  Returning to SEAWOLF, he served as Main Propulsion Assistant, Chemistry and Radiological Assistant and Assistant Combat Systems Officer.
 
Following his initial sea tour, Cmdr. Weeks was selected to serve as Flag Lieutenant to the combined Commander, Submarine Group 2 and Commander, Navy Region Northeast.

In December 1999 he completed the Submarine Officers Advanced Course and earned the David Lloyd award for excellence, before serving as Engineer Officer on USS LOS ANGELES (SSN 688) until April 2003. During this period, LOS ANGELES completed two Western Pacific deployments and a Selected Restricted Availability.

From April 2003 to June 2005, he served as Material Officer on the staff of Commander, Submarine Squadron 22 in La Maddalena, Italy. While assigned, he graduated from the Naval Command and Staff College at the Naval War College. From July 2005 to May 2006, he was a Federal Executive Fellow at RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, CA. While at RAND, Cmdr. Weeks co-authored “Sustaining U.S. Nuclear Submarine Design Capabilities,” a study analyzing the viability of the Submarine design base.

Cmdr. Weeks served as Executive Officer on USS HELENA (SSN 725) from August 2006 to July 2008.  During this period, HELENA completed a U.S. Southern Command deployment and a Western Pacific deployment.

Following his Executive Officer tour, Cmdr. Weeks was assigned as the Submarine Weapons and Payloads Branch Head at the Submarine Warfare Division on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
