A haven for scientists, educators, artists, sports enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, San Diego offers an ever-increasing list of attractions. Some of the major ones include the following:

  • ARCO Olympic Training Center holds training for Olympians that reside in the South Bay area.
  • Around the bay of San Diego and inland, you'll find many year round recreational activities like jet skiing, hiking, surfing, parasailing, rock climbing and snowboarding to name a few.
  • Comic-Con is more than just comic books as movie stars are featured in this 3 day sold out yearly event in Downtown.
  • The Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl are yearly college football games funded and hosted locally here in San Diego's Qualcomm stadium in Mission Valley.
  • Home to the San Diego Chargers of the NFL.
  • International Auto Show, every start of the New Year, car companies show off the new models for the new year.
  • Miramar AirShow, around October, MCAS Miramar opens the military base to the public to show their amazing aerial arsenal.
  • Movie Nights at Petco Park, Petco Park will use their big screen TVs to bring families around San Diego together to the grassy area just out side the stadium to watch free movies, remember to bring you own blanket.
  • Old Town is a snapshot of San Diego before it was San Diego with restaurants, stores, and museums.
  • Open air malls are rare in America but frequent in San Diego as it is the home for such malls like Fashion Valley, Otay Ranch Town Center, University Towne Center, Horton Plaza, Carlsbad Premium Outlets, Grossmont Center, Mission Valley Center, Las Americas, Chula Vista Center.
  • Padres baseball, drive around San Diego Bay after work to meet up with friends to hang out and watch a baseball game without getting on the freeway.
  • Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, hands on science center of fun. Great place to take the family. It is home to the world's first IMAX Dome Theater.
  • Salk Institute for Biological Studies.
  • San Diego Restaurant Week, a week where restaurants offer a discounted price to serve a sample of many different items on their menu.
  • San Diego Wild Animal Park.

  • Sea World of California, home of Shamu the killer whale.
  • Seaport Village, walking distance from Petco Park, this harbor holds unique clothing, gifts, kites and many other shops. It has a talented cast of street performers and artisans like caricaturists, face painters, and balloon sculptors. Seaport Village has 14 acres of waterfront mixed with park like settings and restaurants with its amazing bay side view from downtown San Diego.
  • Soak City, a water park for those hot summer days you want to get wet and not worry about getting sand all over your clothes.
