Commander Michael J. Stiglitz
Commanding Officer

Commander Michael J. Stiglitz grew up in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and was commissioned in September 1990 through Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management while at Georgia Tech and has also earned a Master of Accounting from the University of Florida.

Following completion of Navy Supply Corps School, Commander Stiglitz served as Customer Service and Stores Officer onboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71) and deployed in support of Operation Provide Promise, humanitarian efforts in the former Yugoslavia. For his department head tour, he served as Supply Officer of USS HAWES (FFG-53), where he completed a counter-narcotics deployment in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. In his most recent operational tour, he served as Operations Officer at Navy Cargo Handling Battalion ONE (NCHB-1), where he led the cargo handlers’ initial 11-month deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom to offload the Maritime Prepositioning Force and follow-on shipping.

Commander Stiglitz’s shore tours include assignments as Supply Officer, Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 208, Miami, FL; Operational Support Officer and Comptroller, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Yokosuka, Japan; Director of Plans and Policy, Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group, Williamsburg, VA; and Operational Support Officer and Logistics Planner, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, HI.

Commander Stiglitz’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards). He is qualified as a Naval Aviation Supply Officer and Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer.
