CDR Blane Shearon
Commander Shearon was born in Scott AFB, IL. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame du Loc in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and was commissioned an Ensign through the NROTC program.
After completing Surface Warfare School Division Officer Course in Newport, RI, Commander Shearon reported to USS INGERSOLL (DD 990) and deployed to the Persian Gulf. While onboard INGERSOLL, he served as 1st Lieutenant, Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Combat Systems Officer.
In March 1997, he transferred to the USS STEPHEN W. GROVES (FFG 29), stationed in Pascagoula, MS. While assigned to STEPHEN W. GROVES, he served as Auxiliaries and Electrical Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. After completing Counter-Narcotics Deployments in the Caribbean, Commander Shearon transferred to Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific where he served as the BFTT and Distributed Training Officer.
Commander Shearon attended the Naval Postgraduate School, earning his Masters of Science in Financial Management, graduating number one in his class and was selected as the 2001 Conrad Scholar.
In July 2002, Commander Shearon completed Department Head School and was ordered to USS HALYBURTON (FFG 40) where he reported aboard as the Engineering officer and deployed to the mediterranean as a part of the Standing Naval Forces Atlantic. After completing his tour on the HALYBURTON, Commander Shearon again deployed to the Persian Gulf with Expeditionary Strike Group 5 while serving as the Engineering Officer on the USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52).
In October 2005, Commander Shearon was selected to serve as the Flag Aide and Flag Secretary for Commander, Carrier Strike Group 7. He deployed to the Persian Gulf onboard USS RONALD REAGAN. After attending PXO school, he reported as Executive Officer, USS BOONE (FFG 28). He deployed to the Eastern Pacific in support of Counter Narcotics-Terrorism Operations and the crew earned the Destroyer Squadron 14 Battle E award for 2008.
CDR Shearon most recently served as the Surface Manpower Requirement Officer and Acquisition Systems Manpower Analyst for the Chief of Naval Personnel, Total Force Manpower Requirements Division (OPNAV N12).
Commander Shearon personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, The Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards).
