Master Chief Daryl Green, a native of Danville, Virginia enlisted in the Navy in July 1984. After completing Boot Camp, and then graduating from Seaman Apprenticeship Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to his first Command- USS KISKA (T-AE-35). Onboard KISKA, he served as a Deck Seaman and later became a Personnelman. In his first tour, he completed three Western Pacific deployments. In 1988 Master Chief Green briefly separated from Active Duty and affiliated as a reservist with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 23, Ft Belvoir, Virginia. His next assignment was to Bureau of Naval Personnel (Selection Board Staff - PERS 32) Washington DC. It was there he was recalled to Active Duty in the Training and Administration of Reserve (TAR) Program July 1989. He transferred to Personnel Support Detachment Andrews Air Force Base, Washington DC where he was selected Sailor of the Year 1991.

His follow on assignments also include tours with HM 18 and HM 14, Norfolk Virginia where he was selected to Chief Petty Officer. At COMNAVREDREG Southwest, Jacksonville, Florida he served as shipboard personnel inspector for all NRF east coast Frigates (FFGs) - USS OLIVER HAZARD PERRY, USS ESTOCIN, USS SAMUEL MORRISON and USS FLATLEY to name a few. As Command Chief at NOSC, Columbus, Georgia he was honored as recipient of the prestigious Rear Admiral Harness Enlisted Leadership Award. On the staff of COMNAVAIRFOR, New Orleans, Louisiana he served as NSIPS Functional and selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer. On staff of COMNAVELSG Williamsburg, Virginia (The Cargo Warriors) he made deployments to Kuwait/ Iraq in support of the Global War on Terrorism and was selected to Master Chief Petty Officer. With COMNAVRESFORCOM, New Orleans, Louisiana Master Chief Green served as the N1 Senior Enlisted Advisor and Individual Augmentation (IA) Coordinator for the Reserve Force. While assigned, he successfully screened for the Command Master Chief program in January 2008 and was later detailed as Command Master Chief onboard USS KIDD (DDG-100) homeported in San Diego, California from July 2008 to January 2011. Master Chief Green was detailed to his current assignment as Command Master Chief of Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron FOUR, Portsmouth, Virginia in January 2011.

Master Chief Green is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three Gold Stars, Joint Service Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Silver Star/ one Gold Star and various service ribbons. He has earned an Associate's Degree with Vincennes University and is a graduate from the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, Rhode Island, Class 113 (Brown) and CMC/COB Course Class 50.
