COMMANDER JOSEPH FAUTH, IV

Commander Joseph Fauth, IV is a native to Houston, Texas.
He is a 1994 NROTC graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government.
After commissioning, CDR Fauth reported aboard USS DULUTH (LPD 6) serving as the Second Division Officer and the Combat Information Center Officer where he completed a deployment to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf. Following this tour, he reported aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63) where he served as Aft Propulsion Division Officer and conducted the homeport shift from San Diego to Yokosuka, Japan. Upon completion of Surface Warfare Department Head Training, he reported aboard USS JOHN L HALL (FFG 32) where he served as Chief Engineer and completed a Counter-Narcotics deployment to the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean. He then reported as Materiel Officer for Commander, Destroyer Squadron 23, serving as the NIMITZ STRIKE GROUP Sea Combat Commander Iraqi Freedom operations in the Arabian Gulf. He later served as Executive Officer in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60), completing an independent Ballistic Missile Defense deployment to the Arabian Gulf.
CDR Fauth's shore assignments include a tour as a student at Naval Postgraduate School, where he earned a M.S. in Information Technology Management. He later served as Staff Readiness Officer for Simulation for Commander, Naval Surface Forces and completed an Individual Augmentation assignment to the Office for the Administrative Review of the Detention of Enemy Combatants (OARDEC) in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His most recent shore assignment was as Section Head for Afloat Ballistic Missile Defense on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff (OPNAV) at the Pentagon.
CDR Fauth's personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), and Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), as well as various campaign and unit awards.
