CAPT Marc Gordnier

Commanding Officer, MCAST Command

                                                                      

A native of Galeton, PA, CAPT Gordnier is a 1986 graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Marine Science and Biology.  He was commissioned in 1987 through Navy OCS in Newport, RI.  He also holds a MA in Organizational Management from The George Washington University via the Navy DC Intern program. 

CAPT Gordnier recently completed his tour as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Plans & Policy (N5) for Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command in Norfolk, VA.  He previously served at sea as Commanding Officer, USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60) home-ported in Everett, WA, earning the US Coast Guard Meritorious Unit citation for successful SOUTHCOM counter illicit traffic operations.  Additionally he served as Executive Officer in USS JARRETT (FFG 33); department head tours in COMDESRON 24, USS MCINERNEY (FFG 8); and division officer tours in USS KINKAID (DD 965), USS LEADER (MSO 490) and USS FEARLESS (MSO 442).

Ashore, as a Full Time Support Officer, CAPT Gordnier served as  Surface Force Operational Support Officer on the COMNAVSURFLANT staff with oversight and execution of Navy Surface Force Reserve Component units.  He also served as Commanding Officer, Navy & Marine Corps Reserve Center, Providence, RI; he served on the staff of the Chief of Navy Reserve (OPNAV N095) as Personnel Policy Branch Head; as a Navy DC intern; and as Commanding Officer, Navy Reserve Center, Frankfort, NY.
