CDR Mark Harris
COMMANDING Officer, CRS 4
 

Commander Harris is from Burke, Virginia. He was commissioned in 1997 through the Naval ROTC program at Virginia Tech where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Sea assignments include USS MITSCHER (DDG-57) as First Lieutenant and Communications Officer, USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) as Auxiliaries Division Officer, USS HIGGINS (DDG-76) as Operations Officer, USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN-69) as Main Propulsion Assistant, USS KEARSARGE (LHD-3) as C5I Officer, and the staff of Commander, Carrier Strike Group EIGHT as Assistant Chief-of-Staff for Material Readiness.

Ashore he served at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) as Director of the Electrical Engineering Division and on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) in the Assessment Division (N81).

His post graduate education includes a Master’s in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and Joint Professional Military Education Phase I from the Naval War College.

He has had the honor of serving with crews who earned the Battle Efficiency “E” award and other unit commendations for excellence on deployment.
